Thursday Women's Writing Circle with Marcie Shwartz

Women’s Writing Circle with Marcie at Shamballa

You are invited to join certified author and Poetic Medicine Practitioner Marcie Schwartz to explore the importance of listening with attuned attention, the power of finding your voice and the healing that transpires from transforming pain into written language through writing.

Marcie is excited to announce her offering of a weekly writing circle at the Shamballa Healing center in West Falmouth on Thursdays 4:30- 6:00 pm.

As humans we all go through change, emotional wounds, and healing. Using a weekly theme we will explore the power of listening to our own voice and one another. We will examine our own unique experiences and how they have impacted us as we continue to grow and change with life’s challenges and triumphs.

Within this safe space, of listening with attuned attention and acceptance, we will hold space for one another, as we begin our creative inquiry into our deeply held emotions and experiences. Our focus is on the writing process with no judgement on form or content.

Dr. Rachel Naomi Remen teaches: “The most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen. Just listen. Perhaps the most important thing we ever give each other is our attention… A loving silence often has far more power to heal and to connect than the most well-intentioned words.”

Please bring a pen, notebook and your creative curiosity. No writing experience is necessary!

Investment: $22

Meet Marcie

Meet Marcie:

Marcie Schwartz is an author and certified practitioner in Poetic Medicine.  Poetic Medicine is the documented healing process that occurs when one releases their deep held emotions out from the body and onto the page through writing

Marcie is the Author of Parenting with Awareness. This was a labor of love written from her own explorations of spiritual questions, teaching for over 20 years in her Mommy and Me Play Program and lessons learned from parenting her own two boys. Her Children’s book, When Someone Deeply Listens to You is the beautiful rendition of the adult poem, with the same title, offering a child’s perspective of 18 emotions felt when one is truly heard.

Marcie lives in Sippewissett with her Husband. When she is not writing, Marcie can be found playing pickleball, biking along the bike path, in the Yoga studio or playing with her 4 delightful grandchildren in her role as “Mimi”.
